Some call it a weakness in the movement, others call it a strength. Whatever your take on the leaderless structure of The Zeitgeist Movement is, one thing is clear, if there ever was a leader it would be Peter Joseph. In this excerpt from a Q&A he did back in 2008 he encourages everybody to be their own leader. I believe one of the biggest problems we face in current society is how everybody is looking to everybody else to take a stand, no one ever willing to stand up for what they know to be right in case they get ridiculed. What the movement promotes, however, is for everybody to take accountability for themselves and becomes examples of what they believe in. And this is what Joseph promotes here. I hope you take it to heart, if we all decided tomorrow to take a stand and demand truth and real freedom, we might actually see some real change.

    Hi all,

Well, I suppose all I would like to know for now is if the zeitgeist Movement and the Venus Project are separate entities, even though they could each benefit more by being connected, why cant I take part in both entities. and seeing that nothing is stopping me I have taken part in both.

It does seem silly though that there is ego from both sides even after a few films about how ego should not really play a part in this new… system.

      Hi Jonathan,
I couldn’t agree more with you. I’m of the opinion that if you would like to be a part of both you should. In the end they all stand for the same thing. Jacque Fresco decided to move away from TZM for reasons only he really knows although there is a great deal of speculation. And personally I feel ego had everything to do with it.

What counts is not what group we belong to but what we do with the knowledge we’re given. It’s about spreading awareness and understanding. Whether you do it under The Zeitgeist Banner or The Venus Project is up to you.

      Those are my thoughts anyway…

    Hello

My remark to the statement, “Be your own leader” is, sure why not. In the case of the popular uprisings in the Middle East nations, for the most part there were no established leaders.

If I site Egypt as an example, the internet helped as a tool to allow the frustrations of the nation to be vented, mobilize and make there discontent known. Through education and communication more citizens made an impact.

There were established leaders who added there 5 cents worth, they could be seen on news broadcasts, some were individuals and some were political groups.

However it was still a leaderless movement where the voices of the individuals and groups alike were all moving in the direction of positive change.

In my opinion I thinks that that is what The Zeitgeist Movement, The Venus Project and any other movement could be but not necessarily should like.

Pretty soon though when things get really bad, change will come, one way or the other.

    Yours Sincerely
    André

Hi all, i think the best way to move quickly forwad is to make musicians aware and challange them to talk about this movement in their music. Music plays a significant role in revolutions and liberation struggles. This is a direct challage to musicians of all genre to play a much needed role in this movement and save this only world we have.

    Yours Sincerely
    Njabulo

The thing is the Venus project is a good plan. If you go back to the prophecy’s of Nostradamus we are already nearing the end and there seems to be no solution to everything that if of the matter, the likes of all these wars, climate change. Is there anything wrong with that solution or is there another one that sounds better than the Venus project, is it that ridiculous to say we should work together as it is imposed in the bible that we should as children of one father. Are all these thing stupid to preach about?

    Yours sincerely
    Lisema
